Restore Hope Orphanage
Drive from Kampala to Iganga
A work of the devil, followed by a miracle of God, happened on our drive from the orphanage to Rogers’ church in Iganga. Our van driver was a young Christian named David, whom we lovingly called King David. He is the sweetest person you could imagine, and he was an excellent & safe driver, as well. Despite this, we got pulled over by corrupt police when we were about halfway to Iganga. They accused him of having an insufficient license to drive the van and arrested him on the side of the road as we were adjacent to the police station.
The whole crew of us were stranded on the side of the road for two hours, all the while praying in authority & agreement for a gracious & swift end to the situation. We were already late for teaching at Rogers’ church and now we were stuck in the middle of nowhere without a driver. God was listening to our prayers because all of a sudden we became aware of a commercial driver at the police station who had his vehicle seized by the same corrupt police, although he wasn’t imprisoned. Since he was without car, he happily drove us to our destination in our driverless van for a nominal charge.
The second miracle occurred as we arrived at the church at 5PM vs. 10AM and the people were still there. Only an act of God would have people to hang around for 7 hours awaiting us to come and teach the Word!
The third miracle in this situation happened as we were wrapping up our teaching session. We received word that the police repented from their sin and released David without a fine or punishment of any kind. The fourth miracle was that the police who arrested him drove him two hours to where we were to drop him off. Only God could orchestrate such a repentance & deliverance! Jesus came to set the captives free … and He delivered! Thank You, Jesus!
Isaiah 42:6-7 NKJV I, the LORD, have called You (Jesus) in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles, (7) To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the prison, Those who sit in darkness from the prison house.
Back to Jesus Church in Iganga
We had an amazing 3 days of teaching, fellowship, and ministry planning with Kayongo Rogers and his ministry team at Back to Jesus Church in Iganga. The teaching was focused on 5 core subjects: Full Salvation, Protection, Healing, Authority, and Provision. Great faith was present among the ministers and great faith was established in the attendees. Look at some of the miracles that happened:
Rain: Immediately when I started the first teaching, a strong rain came upon us and we were in semi-open air church with insufficient protection from the elements. People started to leave and flee from the rain. We commanded the rain to stop in the name of Jesus and it fully stopped within 1-2 minutes! Immediately we had a very attentive audience as they witnessed the power & authority of God firsthand.
Mark 4:39 NKJV Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
Demons: There was a demon possessed girl in attendance who was afflicted with an unclean spirit that caused her to seduce others and even she would take off her clothes in public. Despite the demon, she wanted to be free and came to the church to be ministered to. Several of us repeatedly commanded the devils to come out in the name of Jesus. Within an hour or so, she fell to her knees and started dry heaving as if vomiting out the demons. Her entire demeanor changed that day, and even more so the next day. Jesus delivered her from oppression of the devil!
Luke 10:19 NKJV Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Hearing: A young lady came and asked for prayer for a problem with her womb. As we prayed, she immediately felt healing taking place in her body. Interestingly, she told us after we prayed that she was deaf in one ear, yet it opened up to hear after we prayed for her womb. We prayed for one thing and two things were healed. Thank You, Jesus!
Mark 16:17-18 NKJV And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; (18) they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
Vision: An older gentleman with failing eyes was prayed for. Immediately his eyes received their vision and his vision steadily improved. Thank You, once again, Jesus!
Luke 4:18 NKJV THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE HAS ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR; HE HAS SENT ME TO HEAL THE BROKENHEARTED, TO PROCLAIM LIBERTY TO THE CAPTIVES AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET AT LIBERTY THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED
Various Healings: Many people with various sicknesses, pains in the abdomen, joints, backs, etc., were prayed for. Nearly all with testable conditions were visibly & instantly healed. Healings occurred from all the people who were ministering healing – the power of God was not limited to a particular person, but rather all who had faith were seeing profound miracles happen. Thank You, Jesus, that you still “heal the sick and heal them all.”
Matthew 10:1 NKJV And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.
Finances: As we wrapped up each day, we requested the people to go home and make a list of issues, whether healing needs, financial needs, or any other. They were instructed to pray in authority by speaking to the mountains (problems) and commanding them to go, and commanding the answer to come forth. Many people came and gave their financial testimonies the next day as they had miraculous answers to prayers. There was tremendous excitement from all the visible works of God through their newly enhanced faith.
Mark 11:22-23 NKJV So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. (23) For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”
In addition to all of these miracles (and this is only a few of the many), great plans were made for the ministry. Rogers agreed to launch a Works of Jesus Bible College in his region. We also strategized about buying 3 acres of land nearby in order to build a permanent church, school, and orphanage house. Thank God that idea is now coming to pass, as we are in process of buying the land in early January 2024.
Philippians 4:19 NKJV And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Saint James School
Our next stop was a brief visit to St James School which is one of Pastor Wakhata’s children’s schools. A tremendous miracle happened following from this visit. There was a two-year-old boy who was asleep on his mother’s shoulder. For two years he did nothing but sleep. He never sat up on his own, ate by himself, walked, crawled, played, talked, or any other activity that normal two-year-olds do; in other words, the little boy was lame from his mother’s womb.
Over the years he was prayed for many times by friends, family, and pastors. Nothing ever changed up until this point. Generally speaking, there is a weakness in faith for healing within the body of Christ, plus a lack of knowledge regarding how to “resist the devil to make him flee.” Dominion Bible Ministries focuses teaching on healing, faith, authority, Holy Spirit, and power of God. When we saw the little boy and his mom, we ministered to him by laying hands on him and we prayed with authority commanding the sickness to leave and commanding healing to be done in the name of Jesus. The next morning, I asked Wakhata to call and check on the baby. For the first time in two years, he was sitting and eating on his own! Jesus healed the lame boy and made him whole! Thank You, Jesus!!
John 14:12 NKJV Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
Matthew 15:30-31 NKJV Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them. (31) So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.
Friends Family Revival Church
We continued our trip and drove to the Uganda / Kenya border to a city called Busia. This is where Bishop Wakhata James has his main church called Friends Family Revival Church. We did three days of teaching here, as we did at Back to Jesus Church. The teaching was very well received and great faith arose in the people.
As in the other locations, we spent significant time praying for people and ministering to their needs. The Holy Spirit continued to work mightily through the believers who were praying. We saw numerous ladies who were having abdominal pains which “come and go.” There is a lot of demon activity in the regions we visited, and a common presentation characteristic of demons is that someone will have symptoms that come and go. Why is that? The demon likes to afflict someone then goes to another person, then another, and so forth, and after some time repeats the cycle. This is why someone with epilepsy will briefly have seizures and then there is a gap of time before the next episode – it is because epilepsy is demonic oppression and not a true disease. Realizng we were dealing with demons, we simply commanded the spirits of infirmity to leave in the name of Jesus … and they left! There was close to 100% success in all the healing ministering that we did. Thank You, Jesus, Holy Spirit, and Father God!
Matthew 17:15-18 NKJV “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water.” … (18) And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.
Mark 16:15-17 NKJV And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. (16) He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. (17) And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons…”
Post Trip Developments
The trip was very fruitful, not only because of the works of God that happened while we were visiting, but His good work continued after we returned home (and still continues). Having seen the orphanage and some of the needs, we added some privacy curtains to the bedrooms and restrooms, we did a floor resurfacing in the girls’ house, and we added another restroom facility. We are also in conversation about new sources of income and a school nearby.
Regarding Back to Jesus Church and orphanage in Iganga, Pastor Rogers’ dream is coming true! Nearly three acres of land have already been purchased and this includes the soccer field we visited and the partial school building structure that was on the property. The next step will be to build out the school and eventually move the children from the small rented facility over to the new property, plus move the church.
Bishop Wakhata has also been active in moving forward with the teaching by launching a Works of Jesus Bible College in Busia. This incorporates countless hours of teaching from our ministry which is proven to produce great faith, love for God, and works of Jesus in the people. This is a tremendous fruit from the mission trip.
Lastly, we have received many reports of the people who heard our teachings while we were visiting, are now putting what they learned into practice, and are seeing tremendous miracles & works of God in their lives. This is exactly what we hoped for and God is delivering it!
