Freedom House Foundation is an orphanage and widow training center outside of Accra, Ghana. This foundation is under the leadership of Bishop John Andoh and his wife Priscilla. Currently there are 65 children who live at the orphanage under the love and care of John, Priscilla, and other staff members.
Additionally, there are numerous widows who come daily for skills training, such as how to make jewelry / shoes / soap, as well as how to bake, among other skills. This raises up the widows with the ability to generate income and support life needs.
Recently a water well with electric pump and storage tanks was installed on the property with the intention of supplying running water to the orphanage for cooking, cleaning, toilets, and showers. This worked for a short time, however, the community demands on the electricity diminished the ability of the water pumps to function effectively. The solution to the problem is to have 3 phase dedicated electricity run to the orphanage property. Thanks to the generosity of loving brothers and sisters, funding was raised to purchase the needed materials and electric poles. As we speak right now, the poles are being placed on the property and very soon the lines will be run and strong electric service restored to the orphanage. The children and widows will have running water and lighting in a matter of days. Thank you, Father, in the name of Jesus! And thanks to all who have contributed to this work.
John and Priscilla have a vision for Freedom House Foundation that it may become self-sufficient and not require ongoing support to keep it running. To fulfill this vision, John has been developing and implementing plans to produce income and provide sustainable sources of food. Currently he has a pig farm on the foundation property in which he raises pigs for sale in the market. There are also chickens, goats, and a variety of crops being raised as a source of food for the children. Several months ago, John planted about 1,000 coconut trees on the 20+ acre property. Thanks to contributions of loving brothers and sisters, he is currently in the process of planting several hundred more coconut trees. In the course of three years, the coconut trees will be mature and will generate thousands of dollars of income each month to supply the needs of the foundation. This will be a huge blessing to the orphans and widows, and it will allow ministry contributions to be used in other areas of need. Thanks to all who have contributed to this ministry project. God bless Freedom House Foundation, John, Priscilla, and all ministry partners!
