Project Overview

Faridah Waiswa is our beloved sister and the director of Restore Hope Orphanage outside of Kampala, Uganda.  Restore Hope is a major aspect of our ministry, as Faridah provides cares to 42 children and we partner with her to help provide for the kids in every way possible.  One of the things we’ve been wanting to do for a long time is to establish a degree of self-sufficiency in terms of finances for the orphanage.  Faridah has done a lot of research, and she decided that having a chicken coop with “layer chickens” to produce eggs would be profitable enough to provide for about 20% of the monthly expenses.  In fact, raising animals & farming are also what John Andoh does at Freedom House Foundation in Ghana to help offset expenses.

Due to the generous donations we have received over the past several weeks, the chicken coop project is well underway.  The chicken coop is currently being built and will be finished up in a few weeks.  Faridah also received the first 500 chicks and enough food to feed them for the next 4 months until they are grown to the point where they start laying eggs.  Once the eggs start coming, the chickens will produce enough eggs to pay for their own food, plus produce a monthly profit of $800 which will greatly help with expenses.

I wanted to share this good news with you, and I’ll post an update once everything is completed.  Take a look at the pictures and videos to see the progress.

Many thanks to all who contributed!  God bless you all!

Love,

Bobby, Kathy, Mitch

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 NKJV But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. (7) So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. (8) And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
